In the 1940’s, Mr Wynand Beukes (affectionately known as “Oom Wynand – Uncle Wynand”) started cultivating and farming Remhoogte-farm in the Elgin Valley. Being a visionary in his own right, Oom Wynand vigorously expanded infrastructure including orchards, dams and buildings and indeed established so much more than a mere foundation.

Since Oom Wynand sadly passed away at the age of 71 in 1993, the assets have been in trust. A Board of Trustees and Directors complete the communication chain to align operational outcomes with trust matters.

The current board consists of Josias Beukes (Chairperson), Koos Badenhorst and Pieter de Wet. Thys Blom joined as CEO in 2010 and have subsequently built up an excellent team of experts in their own fields. Remhoogte can truly be seen as a global player in the fruit supply chain by proudly supplying world class fruit to all major market segments.
